Dr. Juan R. Amell, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Founder and Medical Director of Red Oak Cardiovascular Center

Dr. Amell earned his M.D. Cum Laude from the Universidad Nacional Pedro H. Urena in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Jackson, and completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Amell is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He was Chief, Department of Cardiology, Houston Northwest Medical Center in 1997. Currently Dr. Amell serves on the staff of Houston Northwest Medical Center and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.

Dr. Amilcar Avendano, M.D.,F.A.C.C.

Dr. Avendano earned his M.D. from the Universidad Francisco Marroquin, Guatemala City, Guatemala, Central America. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He completed his cardiology fellowship at St. Luke's Episcopal, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Dr. Avendano is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He serves on the staff of Houston Northwest Medical Center and St. Lukes Episcopal.

Dr. Gustavo A. Grieco, M.D.,F.A.C.C.

Dr. Grieco earned his M.D. at Central University of Venezuela. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served his Cardiology Fellowship at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital-Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Grieco is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with specialization in the field of Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and serves on the staff of Houston Northwest Medical Center and St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.

Dr. Metram J. Rao, M.D., F.A.C.C.

Dr. Rao is a graduate of Kakatiya Medical College, Osmania University, India. He served internship at the Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York, Internal Medicine residency at Lloyd Noland Hospital, University of Alabama, and completed his Cardiology Fellowship at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Rao is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He serves on the staff of Houston Northwest Medical Center.
