BLS HEARTSAVER COURSE:

Description: Entry –level course for one-rescuer adult,child, and infant CPR. Also includes first aid for choking, recognizingwarning signs for heart attack and stroke, and recommendations for prudentheart living Intended Audience: General public, boys and girls clubs, mass CPR training

BLS HEARTSAVER AED COURSE:

Description: Teaches the basic techniques of adult CPRand use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Students learnto recognize the signs of heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign-bodyairway obstruction Intended Audience: Laypeople who may need to respond to a cardiac emergency in the home or workplace, Airline personnel, Security guards, Firefighters, and Police

BLS HEALTHCARE PROVIDER COURSE:

Description: Designed to meet the needs of healthcare professionalswho respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies. Includes adultand pediatric CPR, foreign-body airway obstruction, and two-rescuer CPR. Barrier devices, stroke, and AED’s are also covered. Intended Audience: Healthcare providers such as nurses,physicians, EMT’s, technicians, and other professionals whose jobs requirecompletion of a written evaluation and skills performance.

ADVANCE CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS) COURSE:

Description: Core of course covers the evaluation and managementof the first ten minutes of a witnessed, adult, ventricular fibrillationcardiac arrest. Also includes scenario management such as stableand unstable tachycardias, acute coronary syndromes, and acute ischemicstroke. Intended Audience: Includes emergency personnel such asphysicians, nurses, technicians, paramedics, and other professionals whosejobs require completion of a written evaluation and successful skill performance.

BLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE:

Description: Readies students who have achieved HealthcareProvider status to teach Basic Life Support Courses. Supplies didactictraining in the rational and guidelines for teaching specific course material. Completion of course includes student monitoring of initial course taughtby an AHA Instructor / Facilitator.

BLS INSTRUCTOR- TRAINER COURSE:

Description: Readies students who have achieved InstructorProvider status to teach Basic Life Support Instructor courses. Includesthe organizational policies of the ECC and AHA.
